The only thing I would suggest is to ensure you check the battery life often so that it doesn’t die on you. I can’t say typically how long it may last and you will get notifications before it dies. I am satisfied with this product it serves its purpose and is much needed. Also the video playback does have an annual fee of $39 or $3.99 a month for the lowest packs. I wish we didn’t have to pay for this subscription but it’s necessary.

We kept getting random solicitors and political people at our door while my husband was gone at work and I felt so uneasy. I was worried if this would capture a good picture just because of the placement of where the original doorbell is on our house. Fortunately it captures enough, and it has been great! I feel a lot safer and it’s nice knowing I don’t have to go to the door to see who it is. Also my husband installed it without any issues and it connected to our original chime just fine.UPDATE: we had the free ring protection for 30 days, where we could look at past video caught on camera, but a couple days ago that expired and we could only see live. The yearly subscription I paid was 39.99 or I could pay 3.99 a month. It’s a small price to pay for me honestly

With this economy being in the present state, crime at an all time high, and let’s be honest, despite no one wanting to talk about it because it’s ” to controversial ” police are out of control doing whatever the hell they want now, with Zero regard to the laws, life and limb, having a security system they can’t tamper with, to protect yourself, that’s high quality, yeah. I got one. It’s stopped police four times now from trying to pull illegal BS outside my house.

So far this product has been doing well for what I need it to do. Just need a few tweaks and we should be good. I just wish my porch light would be picked up on the camera but I guess it’s too dim. Right renting don’t feel like installing the products that are recommended as I feel like they might last outside. So maybe later I’ll purchase those. Right now camera is doing what I need it to do for my family and myself.

I replaced my old gen1 ring doorbell with this thing and WOW what a difference in quality it is! It installed into my same existing angle bracket at the door, although wish it had the separate rear plate like the original as it would have made install with my short house wires easy. The difference in video quality and speed is night and day. On the original, videos were blocky and you couldn’t recognize people at all. This new one I can zoom in and it’s crystal clear. Detection is about the same but the improvement in video was all I was after and this delivers.

It’s nice to be able to be able to see who’s at my door when I’m not able to either get to the door or away from the house. It also gives a peace of mind adding the basics of surveillance.Cons, sometimes detects someone at the door when no one is there.

This is my first security camera and I really like it. Combined with the ring app it alerts you if there is someone at your door, motion or you can just log into the app and live view your camera. It has good night vision. It’s very clear to see what is going on. Of course it connects to any Alexa device which I love also.Con: I’m not a fan that it lights up solid blue when you are watching your camera. I feel like if there was a weirdo at my door I wouldn’t want a bright blue light lit up displaying that I’m watching him. That is my only complaint.Highly recommend.Oh also. I live in an apartment and I bought the holder that attaches to your door and it works great. So if you are renting you can absolutely get this and buy the attachment.

I purchased this product in March of 2022. We are in October 2022 and it does not work. The unit was working properly other than disconnecting from the wifi but now it does not record or do anything in only 7 months. The charge is full, it’s connected properly but just does not work. I need to have a replacement sent to me so i can regain faith in this product. Please help me!

I finally decided to do a review after a couple of years. I’m quite satisfied with this ring camera. The image is clear during the day and at night. The only thing I dislike is how the blue ring that lights up while viewing the “live” camera or even when someone walk by at night. Note when I say “when someone walk by at night,” a suspicious person was walking by, stopped, looked from a distance, and decided to wave! Ok! Weird, right! So the next day, at that moment, I knew it lights up blue do to the motion sensor. Overall, it’s still a good purchase. The image is clear, battery last for a good while, and the app is useful as well.

The best doorbell that we have ever had. We use it with the optional indoor ring chime and the AC power supply. It offers a wide view of who is at the front door and works equally well in all light conditions. Easy to use with the ring app and if you have one it seamlessly connects to the ring network. Home wifi needed. Highly recommended.
